"Lamb to the Slaughter" Irony Paragraph

In "Lamb to the Slaughter," Roald Dahl uses irony to make the story realistic. For example, While the men are eating the murder weapon, one says 'Probably right under our very noses. What you think, Jack?' And in the other room, Mary Maloney began to giggle.
This shows that The irony is that the police men are eating the murder weapon and they have no idea.  Since the readers know, it is dramatic irony. This also shows that The police men are eating the evidence and will never get the murderedIn addition,'Well, what would you suggest, Sam?' The man glanced around his shop. ‘How about a nice big slice of cheesecake? I know he likes that.' 'Perfect,' she said. 'He loves it.' This shows that the irony is that he is dead and he is not going to eat the cheesecake, beacues he is dead. This also shows that she still loves him and maybe still wants him to be alive. In conclusion, the story was ironic.
